Share Savings Account

The term savings means the total amount of money in your account. The par value of each share is $50.00. Your membership begins when you open a Regular Share (savings) account. You become a shareholder of the Credit Union therefore our savings accounts are called "share Accounts."

Christmas Club Account

Another savings account offered by the Credit Union, which allows you to prepare for the Holidays. Save the whole year for these special times. This account can be opened with a $5.00 minimum deposit. Funds will be disbursed to you by check the last week of October.

Insured Money Market Account

Our IMMA account is another great investment offered by your credit union. The minimum deposit required for you to open your IMMA account is $2,500.00 and you must maintain this minimum balance in order to avoid the service fee stated in the fee schedule. click here for rates and fee schedule

Share Draft Account (checking)

DCFCU offers a checking account, which lets you withdraw your money and write checks against your account any time. The minimum deposit required for you to open your checking account is $100. If you maintain a minimum balance of $500 or have direct deposit we will waive the monthly service charge. See our Fee Schedule.

Share Certificates of Deposit

To meet the investment needs of each member and maximize the return on large savings dollars, DCFCU offers a variety of certificates ranging from 6 months to 5 years with a minimum deposit of $5000.00. For the various maturity and rate options see our rate schedule.

IRA Certificates - Includes Traditional, Roth & Education

An IRA (Individual Retirement Account) is a safe and sound way to save for retirement. In many cases members are able to make tax-deductible contributions to an IRA. Consult your tax advisor to see if you qualify. In addition to regular contributions, any qualified pension plan "paid out" by an employer may be rolled over into an IRA account. Everything you want in a credit card DCFCU offers a VISA credit card with a low monthly interest rate, no over the limit fees, and no annual fee. Your VISA classic card comes with 25 days grace period on all your purchases before a finance charge will be imposed.

Fax Service

The Credit Union will initiate or receive faxes for its members. There is no charge for our members who receive faxed information. To initiate a fax there is a fee of $5.00.

Wire Transfers

Wire funds throughout the world through your account at DCFCU. The low transaction cost makes wiring money affordable and safe. DCFCU will initiate or receive wire transfers on money for its members to any financial institution that participates in this type of service.

Desert Communities FCU provides ATM services at our office located at 1001 W. Broadway St, Needles, CA 92363. Our ATM is designed exclusively for anyone carrying a DCFCU ATM or Debit card or a VISA credit card. The ATM machine provides cash dispenser service and you can also make deposits to your DCFCU accounts. Your ATM card can be used to make withdrawals anywhere you see the INSTANT TELLER, THE EXCHANGE, or the PLUS or CO-OP network symbols. Your ATM card gives you access to your accounts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at thousands of locations.

Money Orders

DCFCU provides Credit Union Money Orders (up to a value of $1000 each) for a minimal fee.

Payroll Deduction

A payroll deduction is a specified allotment designated by you to be withheld from each paycheck, and forwarded to the credit union, for deposit to savings accounts. You can even allocate funds from your payroll deduction to make deposits and payments to family accounts.

Direct Deposit of Government or Payroll Checks

Your entire net paycheck, or a specified allotment, can be electronically transferred to your credit union account. Once your funds reach the credit union, they will distribute to other savings, checking and/or loans according to your instructions. Automatic Transfers

You have the capability of establishing automatic transfers from checking or savings accounts to your DCFCU loans, credit card, Christmas Club Account, Insured Money Market Account, IRA Accounts and family accounts at no cost to you.
